Well done to all of the gymnasts who competed at the West of Scotland Championships two weeks ago. The club had several gymnasts competing for the first time and all gymnasts performed very well on the day.
The club’s Grade 2 WG of Ainslie Bennett, Jess Daly and Aimee McInally competed for the first time at this level and won bronze medals after making the transition from Grade 1 to Grade 2 from the Scottish Championships in February.
Sarah Finlay, Holly Kelly and Cara McGinley competed in the Grade 1 WG category and claimed silver medals after an excellent routine which demonstrated strong technical work and precise choreography.
Grade 2 WP saw two pairs from the club take to the floor with very different routines. Hazel Howat and Dani Thomson put on a terrific performance as usual and finished the competition in 2nd position after a routine full of character. Sarah Finlay and Holly Kelly claimed the gold medals in G2 WP after a well executed routine which was polished and poised throughout. Sarah and Holly also achieved the highest score of the competition which was a fantastic achievement.
As well as these medals, the club had several other top six results which was very encouraging particularly given the young age of many of the gymnasts competing.
Well done to you all!!
