Holly Mardle and Sarah Finlay both represented the club at the British NDP Finals in Stoke on Trent on Saturday. The girls took part in the Finals alongside almost 700 other gymnasts who represented the ten English Regions as well as the three Home Nations.
Holly competed in National 1 Tumbling (11/12yrs) and performed two solid tumble runs to finish in 11th place overall. The standard of competition at this level was very high and there was very little separating the gymnasts at the end of two tumble runs.
Sarah Finlay competed in National 1 Tumbling (13yrs +) and after two excellent tumble runs qualified in 6th place for the final tumble run of the day. Sarah produced an outstanding final tumble to finish the competition in 5th place. As in the younger category, there was very little separating the tumblers, particularly the top 6.
Holly and Sarah both performed excellently as the Scottish representatives in their events and did themselves and the club proud. Both girls should be applauded for their superb efforts at the British Finals as well as for their achievements in becoming Scottish champions which led to their selection for this event. Congratulations, girls!!
