Christmas Party/Holiday/Christmas Hamper

  • This year our Christmas party will be held on Saturday 19th December 09:00 – 11:30 at Meadowburn primary school. As always there will be lots of games, races, dancing and of course prizes!!!!  Please remember to wear your normal gymnastics attire as lots of the games are gymnastics based.  All gymnasts are invited to attend our Christmas party regardless of their regular training days.
  • We are having a Christmas hamper raffle to help raise funds for the club. The club is a non-profit organisation and all funds raised are spent on the gymnasts.  We are looking to purchase some new equipment so your generosity will be much appreciated.  Raffle tickets will be on sale at the beginning and end of each session for £1.00 per ticket or £5.00 for six tickets.  The hamper is full of goodies including wine, vodka, chocolate, Christmas decorations and much more.  The winning ticket will be drawn and announced at the Christmas party.  Good luck!
  • Please note there will be no training on Sunday 6th December as most of our gymnasts will be competing at the Lanark Invitational. Parents/Carers should have been previously informed of all other cancelled sessions.  If unsure please check the dates for your diary section for confirmation.
  • Our final session before Christmas will be Tuesday 22nd December. All sessions will return as normal week commencing 4th January 2016.  Senior gymnasts will be expected to continue home training throughout the holidays.  When we return to training there will only be nine weeks until the Scottish Tumble Championships and ten weeks until the Scottish Acro Championships.  Gymnasts selected for these events will be advised in the new year.  Thank you!

Recent Updates – November 2015

  • Stuart, Jacquie and Jane recently passed their tumble judging exam!  Their exam contained both theory and practical elements.  All three coaches were well prepared after lots of practice both in the gym and at home.  We were delighted to hear that they all passed with flying colours.  A huge well done to all – a fantastic achievement which will be hugely beneficial for our club!
  • All panto permission slips and payment must be returned to a coach by Wednesday 18th November.  Please note that no late payments will be accepted.  We already have lots of gymnasts attending the panto which we’re sure will be a fantastic evening! Don’t miss out!
  • The winner of our Bishopbriggs Acro quiz was Amy Hulmes.  Amy answered every question correctly and was presented with her prize last night.  Thank you to everyone who entered the quiz and supported the club.  We have been able to purchase lots of prizes for our Christmas party!
  • Amy and Cara both traveled to Wakefield last weekend to attend a coaching course.  Both gymnasts worked extremely hard and were a credit to the club.  This was a fantastic opportunity for both gymnasts.  They enjoyed the training facility and made great progress throughout the day.  Well done!
  • Our first Acro competition in the new year will be Saturday 27th February.  If any competitive gymnast is unavailable on this date please advise the club via email asap.   Gymnasts selected will be advised in the new year.

Christmas Panto 2016

We are planning our annual trip to the Pavilion Theatre to see the Christmas Pantomime ‘Santa Claus is coming to town’.  All gymnasts should have received a letter with full details at the end of training – if not please ask a coach for a copy.

Payment and permission slip must be returned to a coach by Wednesday 18th November.  Please note this date has changed due to cancelled sessions.  Please remember that seats will be booked on the date so any forms handed in after this date cannot be accepted.

We’re looking forward to it already and hope you are too!
