British NDP Tumble Semi-Final

Congratulations to the four gymnasts who represented the club at the British NDP Tumble Semi-Final in Sheffield this week.  Fiona Glen, Sophie Hoo-Lochrie and Sophie Thomson qualified for the event after becoming Scottish champions in February with Holly Kelly securing her place at the event after taking silver at the Scottish Championships last month.  All of the gymnasts were competing at British level in tumbling for the first time.

Sophie Thomson was the first competitor of the day and ensured her place on the podium after three excellent tumble runs.  Sophie took the silver medal in her National 1 category and will hopefully go on to represent the club at the British Finals in July.

Holly Kelly finished in 16^th place after three solid tumble runs in a very tight category at National 4 level.  Holly competed very well especially given she moved up to the 13+ age group just this year.

Sophie Hoo-Lochrie, at only nine years old, represented the club at National 3 in her first British competition.  Sophie finished in 7^th place after completing three great tumble runs which had improved significantly from the Scottish Championships.

Fiona Glen completed the day’s competition for the gymnasts with three brilliant runs to finish in 11^th place in what was another very tight category.

Congratulations to the girls who all demonstrated excellent tumbling skills while benefiting from the experience of competition at this level.  Well done!!
