Feb Fees & Lottery Fees

Please ensure all February fees are paid by the 2nd March at the latest.

Also if you have an allocated lottery number can you please ensure the March lottery fees are paid as soon as possible as the first draw is this Saturday 2nd March and the clubs needs the fees in to be able to pay out the winners.

If you have been allocated a lottery number and do not wish to participate and have not advised the club already I would be grateful if you could email the club as soon as possible so as to allocate the number to someone else. The club’s email address is acrogymnastics@hotmail.co.uk

Scottish Acro Championships 2013 Results

Congratulations to all of the gymnasts who competed in the Scottish Acro Championships yesterday at Ravenscraig. The overall standard of competition this year was very high and almost half of the club’s gymnasts were competing at this level for the first time.

In the Preparatory B WP category Ella Kelly and Amy Paterson performed very well to finish in an impressive 5th place in their first Scottish Championships.  Ellie Stewart, Sophie Gray and Kirsty Kane also performed well to end the day in 8th place.

Sarah Finlay, Holly Kelly and Cara McGinley finished in 8th place in G1 WG with Ainslie Bennett, Jess Daly and Aimee Mcinally finishing in 10th place.

The club was represented in G2 WG by Karen Whitelaw, Shannon McInnes and Becky Daly who finished in 7th position in their first Scottish Championships as a partnership. G2 WP saw Sarah Finlay and Holly Kelly take to the floor to finish in 10th place and Hazel Howat and Dani Thomson finish in an impressive 5th place in a particularly difficult category.

The club’s G4 WG of Emma Leadbetter, Heather Mardle and Ellie Lavy produced two excellent routines over the course of a long day to finish in bronze medal position in their first competition as a trio. The girls have worked extremely hard over the past six months and deserve enormous credit for their performances in both routines.

Fiona Glen and Codie Mcinally finished the morning in 1st place after a well executed balance routine filled with exciting choreography in G3 WP. The girls took to the floor in the afternoon and performed an impressive tempo routine which took their combined score for the day to 48.15.  Fiona and Codie finished the day in 1st place as the Scottish Champions in the G3 WP category! This is an incredible achievement and all the more remarkable given the girls have been working as a pair for less than three months. Fiona and Codie will represent the club at the British Championships in May in Stoke.

All of the gymnasts who represented the club yesterday performed to a high standard in the most competitive Scottish Championships to date so a huge congratulations to you all. Well done to all of the club’s medallists and to our new Scottish Champions – Fiona Glen and Codie Mcinally!!!  Keep up your hard work, girls.

Claire and Clare.
